7 club championships, annual individual events
6 annual best-balls, high school and junior golf
5 weekly events, league, playoffs (+) and scrambles
4 playing in a threesome or foursome, first time pairing (+), match play or wagers (++)
3 a friendly twosome
2 single keeping score
1 single just playing
*although the anxiety of a player’s ability test is high the competition level is low. Which can create apathy.
The vast majority of golfers will only experience golf at these levels. More information is needed to describe competing in tour events, making cuts, qualifying for majors and playing in Ryder Cups, President Cups, Solheim Cups, and Walker Cup competitions.
